A New Way North

Good news: A new option to get around Marin County is coming next year.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit is set to launch seven new two-car commuter trains that will connect the two counties starting in 2016. Residents will be able to use SMART to travel north and south from San Rafael to the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport using a 43-mile route.

The train system will also go a long way in helping transportation congestion, as 75% of commuters in the North Bay area travel to one of the two counties to get to work. Not only that, the train will also help reduce greenhouse gases as the trains will be energy efficient while prompting less people to drive a car to work.

Heading north from our Larkspur location just got a little easier…and it’s good for the environment!
